Fades & tapers in San Marcos
The fade is the house specialty and the cut most of our chairs are booked for. Skin, taper, burst, drop, mid and low — every barber on the roster does them, and they do them every day.
What you can ask for
Skin fade, bald fade, taper fade, burst fade, drop fade, mid fade, low fade, high fade. If you don't know the name, bring a photo. Every barber here would rather see the picture than guess at the word.
Hair type
Straight, wavy, curly, coily. Our barbers work across all textures daily, which in a college town is not optional.
How long it takes
Most fades run 30 to 45 minutes. Add a beard and budget an hour.
How often to come back
A skin fade looks sharp for about a week and presentable for two. Most regulars are on a two-week cycle; tapers stretch to three.
Both shops are in the downtown square — Kings Korner at 249 N LBJ Dr and ICON at 306 N Edward Gary St. Open Mon–Sat 10am–7pm, Sun 10am–6pm. Haircuts and fades start at $35.
